Emily Amarnick
Emily’s background and interests are as compelling as her attire—a tasteful and intelligent blend of all that is “vintage” and cutting-edge at the same time.
Emily grew up in the western suburbs of Philadelphia. The very confident and adventurous daughter of parents who were both educators, Emily was encouraged to pursue all of her interests with vigor and confidence.
She attended the University of Pittsburgh majoring in Humanities where she fortified her interests and skills in the areas of art, writing, film production and media. Shortly after graduation, her many talents in multimedia provided her with a unique advantage in the world of business.
Emily gained experience in a variety of positions ranging from roles within the retail industry to working for the internationally known record label, Putumayo. However, it was in her work as a freelancer and entrepreneur where she truly developed her business and marketing skills.
She went onto launch several successful businesses including a vintage clothing store, an on-line social media consulting service and a culinary business which specializes in personal chef services focusing on vegan and vegetarian cuisine and customized cooking classes for women.
In the winter of 2009 she met John Henderson the Trocadero Theatre in Philadelphia. Henderson was moonlighting as a jazz musician with his band, The Big Unkle. As a freelance multimedia consultant, Emily was representing several professional musicians and performers throughout the Philadelphia area.
Henderson was familiar with her work. For almost a full year he had paid keen attention to the constant wave of cleverly scripted, e-mail blasts, posters and countless social media posts that had been circulating throughout the City. The ads were graphically striking. The campaigns were strategic, intelligent and crisp. They were frequent and memorable. They were effective.
As both a musician and a seasoned marketing professional, Henderson realized that there must be a talented “Oz” behind the scenes of these campaigns. Someone was obviously asking the right questions, creating the right images, pulling the right strings and pushing the right buttons, among them---SEND and POST.
It didn’t take long before the two made a plan to collaborate. Henderson discovered that Emily was in fact, the talent behind the scenes in many ways—not just with reference to the impactful multimedia campaigns, but also when it came to the business and branding strategies for her clients. Henderson and Amarnick have been working together on various projects ever since.
Her skills and talents are many, but in her role as a JBHC consultant, she specializes in event planning, executing creative outreach and developing high-impact campaigns that employ the strategic use of graphics, photography and social media.
